The Mavic COMETE 50 carbon road wheels are designed for cyclists looking for a single set capable of going fast on the flat, remaining responsive on climbs and maintaining precise tracking at high speeds. Their 50 mm profile and 23 mm internal width, combined with 28 mm tyres, optimise aerodynamics, efficiency and control. The Adaptive Layup construction combines T700, T1000 and 3K fibres to balance stiffness, weight and dynamic behaviour. The 21 Mavic Aero Carbon spokes per wheel enhance pedalling precision, whilst the Mavic Ceramic bearings and ID360 40T system improve smoothness and responsiveness. Weighing 1315 g per pair, the COMETE 50 is positioned as the lightweight, versatile aero carbon wheel for road performance
Main features
Aerodynamic speed on every route
The 50 mm rim profile and 23 mm internal width place the COMETE 50 in the category of lightweight aero carbon road wheels. The Aero Wide design was developed by our wind tunnel engineers in Geneva to improve and optimise efficiency in headwinds and crosswinds. The result is a time saving of up to 12 seconds over 50 km compared to the Cosmic SLR 45.
Full carbon responsiveness on acceleration
The Adaptive Layup structure combines T700, T1000 and 3K fibres to optimise stiffness, weight and vibration damping. The 21 Mavic Aero Carbon spokes per wheel, with a configuration (14/7) 14 crossed spokes on one side and 7 radial spokes on the other, provide perfect tension balance, enhancing handling precision, vibration absorption and comfort.
The expected result: a more responsive wheel when you accelerate, sprint or change pace.
The expected result: a more responsive wheel when you accelerate, sprint or change pace.
Low-friction 40T engagement
The hub features the ID360 40-tooth double-pawl freewheel system, combined with Mavic Ceramic bearings to minimise friction and improve smoothness at high speeds. Optimised springs and lightweight hub bodies contribute to the pursuit of performance. Locked-In spoke heads provide long-lasting tension stability, a key factor in maintaining precision and reliability ride after ride, so you can get the most out of every road profile.
