Ride with Confidence: How Mavic Supports US Cyclists After the Purchase

Categories

When you invest in a new set of wheels, a helmet, or another performance cycling product, you are investing in every ride that follows.

Whether you are preparing for a race, exploring a new gravel route, riding local trails, or heading out for a weekend group ride, reliability matters. Just as important is knowing that the company behind your equipment will be there when you need support.

At Mavic, our commitment to cyclists does not end when a product is purchased. Through Mavic Care, dedicated U.S.-based customer service, expert wheel repairs, domestic parts inventory, and comprehensive warranty coverage, Mavic continues to support cyclists across the United States long after the ride begins.

More Than a Warranty

For more than 135 years, Mavic has developed cycling products with a focus on performance, reliability, safety, and long-term durability.

Our products are designed, engineered, manufactured, and tested to withstand demanding riding conditions. That confidence allows us to stand behind our products with a strong warranty program and a support process built around getting riders back on the road, gravel, or trail as quickly as possible.

Every Mavic component is covered by a two-year warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials or workmanship. Eligible products may receive additional coverage when registered through the free Mavic Care program.

Mavic Care Warranty Benefits

Registering an eligible Mavic product provides additional peace of mind and can help simplify the warranty and repair process.

Mavic Care benefits may include:

  • Lifetime warranty coverage for eligible carbon wheels
  • Three-year warranty coverage for eligible aluminum wheels
  • Three-year warranty coverage for eligible helmets
  • Three-year warranty coverage for eligible Comète Ultimate shoes
  • Crash Replacement discounts on eligible wheels and helmets
  • A more streamlined warranty and service process

To qualify for applicable extended coverage, products must generally be registered on the Mavic Care website within two months of purchase.

Warranty eligibility, coverage, and Crash Replacement benefits vary by product and model. Riders should review the complete Mavic Care warranty policy for specific details.

Lifetime Coverage for Eligible Carbon Wheels

Mavic's lifetime warranty on eligible carbon wheels reflects our confidence in the design, manufacturing, and testing behind each wheelset.

This coverage applies to the original owner when eligible wheels are registered through Mavic Care within two months of purchase. It applies to qualifying wheels from the 2021 range sold since September 1, 2020, based on the product serial number and applicable warranty terms.

The serial number is typically engraved on the wheel or printed on a label located between the spokes near the valve hole.

For riders, this coverage provides reassurance that their investment is backed by a company with generations of wheel-building expertise.

Extended Coverage for Aluminum Wheels and Other Products

Mavic aluminum wheels are the result of more than a century of product development and real-world cycling experience.

Eligible aluminum wheels are covered by the standard two-year warranty, which may be extended to three years when registered through Mavic Care. Eligible helmets and Comète Ultimate shoes may also qualify for three-year coverage following registration.

This extended protection is another example of Mavic's commitment to building products that are designed to perform reliably season after season.

U.S.-Based Customer Service and Warranty Support

A warranty is only as valuable as the service behind it.

That is why Mavic continues to invest in a dedicated U.S.-based Customer Service and Warranty and Repair Team. This allows cyclists in the United States to receive responsive assistance from a team familiar with Mavic products, warranty procedures, and repair requirements.

When a repair form is submitted, the U.S.-based team reviews the request and generates a shipping call tag so the product can be returned for evaluation.

Once the product arrives, the team inspects the wheel or component, identifies the issue, and determines the most appropriate repair or replacement solution.

The goal throughout the process is simple: minimize downtime and get the rider back on the bike as quickly as possible.

Genuine Mavic Parts Stocked in the United States

Mavic maintains an inventory of genuine replacement parts in the United States to support faster warranty and repair service.

Keeping these parts available domestically helps reduce the time required to complete many common repairs and avoids unnecessary delays associated with sourcing every component from overseas.

Our U.S. service team can address nearly every major part of a Mavic wheel, including:

  • Carbon and aluminum rims
  • Spokes and nipples
  • Hubs
  • Freehub components
  • Bearings
  • Internal wheel components

This ability to repair individual components can often extend the life of a wheel and provide a faster, more efficient solution than replacing the entire product.

It also reflects an important part of Mavic's product philosophy. Our wheels are not simply designed to perform. They are designed to be supported, serviced, and kept in use.

Full Wheel Replacement When Necessary

In some situations, a full wheel replacement may be the safest or most practical solution.

When replacement is required, Mavic works to source the appropriate wheel from available inventory in the United States. If the product is not available domestically, the replacement may be sourced from inventory in Europe.

This combination of U.S. and European inventory helps Mavic provide replacement options while minimizing delays whenever possible.

Whether a wheel requires a bearing replacement, hub service, new spokes, a rim repair, or complete replacement, the Mavic service team evaluates each case individually and works toward the solution that best supports the rider.

Crash Replacement Support

Cycling accidents can happen, even when equipment is performing exactly as designed.

The Mavic Crash Replacement program helps eligible riders replace damaged wheels or helmets at a discounted price following an accident.

Eligible carbon wheels sold since September 1, 2020, may qualify for the following replacement discounts:

  • 50% during the first two years
  • 40% between years three and five
  • 30% between years six and eight

Eligible aluminum wheels and helmets may qualify for a 40% Crash Replacement discount during the first three years.

Crash Replacement eligibility varies by model. The program does not apply to Aksium, Crossride, Crossmax, and Allroad wheel models. Riders should consult the complete terms and the applicable product page to confirm eligibility.

What the Warranty Covers

Mavic warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship that appear during normal product use.

Depending on the circumstances, Mavic may repair or replace a defective component at its discretion.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Negligence
  • Improper use
  • Incorrect installation
  • Unauthorized repairs
  • Modifications performed by technicians who are not Mavic-certified

Parts that are considered normal wear items may also be excluded from warranty coverage.

Following approved installation, service, and maintenance procedures helps protect the product and preserve warranty eligibility. Our technical manuals walk through those procedures by product.

Supporting the United States Cycling Market

Mavic's continued commitment to the United States cycling market goes beyond product availability.

It includes expanding access through retail partners and direct-to-consumer sales, maintaining parts and inventory in the United States, providing domestic customer service, and supporting riders with professional warranty and repair capabilities.

For American cyclists, that means access to more than a premium wheel or cycling product. It means access to an established support network backed by more than 135 years of cycling expertise.

From road and gravel to mountain biking and everyday riding, Mavic is committed to helping cyclists ride with confidence.

Register Your Mavic Products

Cyclists who have recently purchased eligible Mavic wheels, helmets, or footwear are encouraged to register their products through Mavic Care within two months of purchase.

Registration may activate extended warranty coverage, lifetime carbon wheel protection, and Crash Replacement benefits, depending on the product.

It also makes it easier for the Mavic team to locate product information and support future warranty or repair requests.

At Mavic, our relationship with riders does not end when a wheel leaves the warehouse.

From engineering and testing to U.S.-based service, genuine replacement parts, professional repairs, and comprehensive warranty protection, Mavic remains committed to supporting United States cyclists long after the purchase.

Because keeping riders moving is not simply part of our warranty. It is part of who we are.

Warranty, extended coverage, and Crash Replacement eligibility vary by product, model, purchase date, registration status, and region. Review the complete terms and conditions on mavic.com for full details.
