The Matryx® upper is the part that wraps around the foot. Its woven construction provides more stable support than a traditional upper, with good breathability as intensity increases. On the Cosmic SLR Triathlon, it works with the strap to limit unwanted foot movement—a key factor in half and full-distance races where the pedaling motion is repeated for several hours.
Power transfer via carbon composite sole

Smooth transition with notched Velcro® strap
The Velcro® strap wraps around the instep and can be adjusted with a single motion. Its notch allows you to keep it open before putting the shoe on, so it’s ready to go as soon as you get out of the water. The heel loop completes this transition: you can grab the shoe more easily, even with a wet foot, and then adjust the fit once you’re on the bike.
