Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var

From the 17th to the 19th of February the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes et du Var took place, the St Michel-Mavic-Auber93 team equipped with Cosmic SLR 45 and 65, as well as Cosmic Ultimate 45 Disc was invited to compete against the numerous World Tour teams.

During the first stage between Saint Raphaël and Ramatuelle, Florian RAPITEAU showed the jersey magnificently by riding in a breakaway for more than 150km. Once the breakaway was caught, the battle for the stage victory took place on the steep roads to Ramatuelle. A very fast final, which saw Romain CARDIS take 30th place.

The second stage, marked by a first hour at 48.5km/h, didn't allow Stéphane JAVALET's men to escape. The difficult final stage will nevertheless smile to Thomas GACHIGNARD, who will realize a magnificent 11th place and will get closer to the general classification.

Finally, during the last mountainous stage, the favorites decided to open the hostilities at the beginning, making the peloton explode.

Thomas GACHIGNARD stayed in contact with the leaders until 5km from the finish before being dropped. He will finish in 21st place, less than a minute behind the winner, which will place him 21st in the final overall classification.
