The Mavic Ultimate Triathlon IV triathlon cycling shoes are designed for triathletes seeking the highest level of energy transfer during the cycling segment. The top-performing model in the Mavic triathlon range, they combine a Matryx® upper made of Kevlar® and polyamide with a 100% carbon sole to stabilise the foot and minimise energy loss during high-intensity riding. The Matryx® jacquard weave allows for targeted ventilation zones, complemented by openings in the carbon sole to promote airflow beneath the foot. The Velcro® strap wraps around the instep for a secure fit that can be quickly adjusted during transitions. Assembled in Mavic’s French workshops, this high-performance triathlon shoe weighs 240 g per shoe. A clear choice for demanding races, from Olympic distance to long-distance events.
The 100% carbon sole is the key upgrade over the Cosmic SLR Triathlon. It aims to provide a more stable base and more direct power transmission when pedalling harder. On long or fast sections, this stiffness limits flex underfoot and delivers a more precise pedalling feel, particularly sought after by performance-oriented triathletes.
The Matryx® upper wraps around the foot with a Kevlar® and polyamide construction, designed to reduce material stretch. On a high-end triathlon shoe, this detail matters: the foot stays better positioned in the shoe, the Velcro® strap locks the instep quickly, and energy is transferred more efficiently to the pedal.
The Matryx® jacquard weave allows for ventilated zones on the upper, whilst the carbon sole incorporates openings designed to promote airflow. This construction is designed to keep the foot better ventilated after the swim and during the cycling phase, particularly in hot races where humidity and temperature can quickly reduce comfort.
