WOMEN'S VUELTA 2023

The first edition of a real women's Tour of Spain took place from May 1 to May 7. The St Michel-Mavic-Auber93 team was lucky enough to be among the invited teams and so 7 riders took part in the first stage in Torrevieja.

The event started with a flat, 14.5 kilometer long team time trial. For their very first time in such a difficult exercise, the girls from St Michel-Mavic-Auber93 achieved a very good time by being less than a minute behind the winning team. 

During the second stage, placed under the sign of a sprint finish, Simone BOILARD takes a nice 13th place. 

The third stage will remain in the memories with an average of 45,6 km/h, it is quite simply the fastest Women's World Tour race day ever. The final stage was marked by crashes, which caused Roxanne FOURNIER and Camille FAHY to withdraw from the next stages. 

In the end, the team realized an encouraging Vuelta Féminine for the years to come since Coralie DEMAY is ranked 31st overall and Dilyxine MIERMONT 36th.

Here are a few words from the sports director, Charlotte BRAVARD: "The objective for our first Vuelta was to do a big block of work in view of the next events. We were also able to see the points of improvement before our next races, and to know where the work is to be done. Our first time trial of the season allowed us to test our new material with our new Mavic wheels, where there was a lot of work to do. It was our first experience on Spanish soil, we were happy to see the beautiful organization."
