Cyril Dessel (AG2R-La Mondiale) won Stage 16 of the 2008 Tour de France thanks to a powerful effort in the last hundred meters, out sprinting his breakaway companions. He wore the Yellow jersey in 2006, and with this effort shows he has recovered his punch to win. This Alpine stage, one of hardest of the 08 Tour, climbed two passes: Col de Lombarde 2.351 m (7% over 21km) and the culminating pass of Europe, the Bonnette-Restefond 2.802m (6.2% over 26.7km).

 

In his victory, Cyril Dessel rode the Mavic Cosmic Carbon Ultimate and the new yellow Mavic Zxellium SSC shoe.

 

The Zxellium model that he wore will be available at your local Mavic dealer starting in October.
