Van Lierde, O’Donnell near the front in Kona

On a hot, windy day on the Kona coast of Hawaii, triathletes Frederik Van Lierde and Tim O’Donnell both scored their best results ever in the Iron-distance triathlon World Championship. These athletes, using Mavic CXR 80 wheels and Tri Helium shoes, finished 3rd and 8th, respectively.

The Belgian Van Lierde finished with a time of 8 hours, 24 minutes and 9 seconds. He posted one of the fastest bike splits of the day, coming to the 2nd transition after just 4:35:25 of pedaling.

Tim O’Donnell was 2nd American with a time of 8:33:28. He was among the first swimmers out of the water, maintained his pace with a solid time on the bike and closed the deal with a strong run.

Congratulations to these amazing athletes!
