Lau, Chausson triumph in 2012 Mavic Trans-Provence Enduro

Nicolas Lau (Cube Action team) and Anne-Caroline Chausson won the men's and women's categories, respectively, in the 4th annual Trans-Provence. This definitive all-mountain enduro covered 300km over the course of 26 timed singletrack descent stages, spread across 7 days. With a total of 15,000 meters descending mixed with a total of 10,000 meters climbing, this challenge is unlike any other in the sport of cycling.

In the men's race, Nicolas Lau riding Crossmax ST claimed the lead on the 5th day and never looked back. 2011 winner Jerome Clementz (Cannondale/Mavic) battled every day to reclaim his title in 2012. He held the lead for several days, but had problems including a crash, missing a turn, and an unintentional shortcut which he self-declared and took a 30 second penalty. In the end, he finished 3rd, with Nicolas Vouilloz (Lapierre) in 2nd.

Women's winner Anne-Caro Chausson rode Crossmax ST wheels and Alpine XL shoes to finish over 10 minutes in front of 2nd place Anka Martin (Santa Cruz/SRAM).
